SITMP participates, together with partners, in the development of an alternative emergency communication system for cases of digital breakdowns.
SITMP, the IT company of the City of Pilsen, represents the West Bohemian metropolis in the European research project SPARROW, which aims to increase the resilience of cities and society during power and internet outages. Together with its partners – the Plan4All association and the RoadTwin company – SITMP wants to participate in the development of an alternative emergency communication system in case of digital infrastructure failure.

In the SPARROW project, 15 partners from eight European countries collaborate, coordinated by the KIOS Centre of Excellence for Research and Innovation at the University of Cyprus.
It brings together academia, industry, SMEs, public organisations, and private experts from Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, France, Greece, Switzerland, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and the Czech Republic.
The three-year project started with an official meeting of all stakeholders in September 2024 at the University of Cyprus. The project is scheduled to be completed in autumn 2027. The grant from the European Union funds amounts to just under 5 million CZK.
